The ideal candidate will work with Engineering, Operations, Stockroom, and Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure the quality of products from suppliers is maintained to a very high standard. The Quality Inspector will inspect incoming and In Process material to documented specifications and to documented inspection plans and product specifications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Document and investigate defect and non-conformances in Quality system database.
- Perform product release and defect disposition transactions in database for critical supplier parts.
- Complete first article inspections by measuring and documenting both variable and attribute data into a FA report; work with Design and Production Engineering on the completion of functional FA testing.
- Participate in the product containment process when defects are identified in stock, production, and field complaints, including defining defect descriptions and screening material.
- Establish controls for documenting inspection plans in Quality database.
- Opportunity to expand skill set by participating in quality plan development, including FMEA and control plans.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- HS Diploma and 5-10 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment required OR Technical Associates Degree and 3-5 years’ experience in an electronics manufacturing environment required
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement a plus
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System environment a plus
- IPC-A-610 familiarity or certification a plus
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Mechanical inspection experience
- Electrical inspection experience
- Experience in using a wide variety of inspection tools including micrometer, calipers, optical comparator, video comparator, go/nogo gages like ring, thread and pin gages, electrical test equipment for continuity and resistance checks. Ability to measure flatness and parallelism using a surface plate, gage blocks, and dial indicator.
- Strong writing skills to clearly describe and document defect descriptions.
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong computer skills including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize job duties
