Job Description

We are looking for a Tax Manager to expand its Evident Tax team in the U.S. The Tax Manager will play a key role in supporting the Director of Tax in overseeing the income tax provision, managing the reporting and compliance for all federal and state tax matters. The Tax Manager will also assist with tax research, international tax planning and modelling (e.g., GILTI, FDII, FTC, BEAT, Pillar II), and tax credits and incentives programs (e.g., R&D, IRC 179D deduction).

Job Duties

  • Oversee compliance related to the annual US & Canada corporate tax filings including quarterly federal and state corporate income tax calculations.
  • Assist with the US international tax compliance, including preparation and/or review of international tax calculations, such as GILTI, FDII, FTC, and BEAT, and Forms such as 5471, and 5472, 8991, 8992, and 8993, and reporting statements as required.
  • Coordinate and review the preparation of monthly and quarterly indirect tax returns filing with external tax advisors.
  • Support the setting up of new business entities, where necessary, including FEIN, state & local registrations, annual reports, business licenses, property tax and miscellaneous tax filings.
  • Prepare quarterly ASC740 tax provision and related tax accounts for financial reporting for US & Canada operations and coordinate review by external tax advisors.
  • Prepare journal entries and perform balance sheet tax account reconciliations.
  • Assist with cross border transactions, transfer price, and other related party transactions
  • Monitor and keep abreast on changes in tax laws, rules and/or regulations and assist with determining tax impact based on Company profile.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive, proven experience across both industry and large accounting firm working with global companies.
  • PC skills required including MS Word and Excel, are required. Familiarity with NetSuite and Visual and experience with tax software applications would be a plus (e.g., OneSource Income Tax, Avalara, and Checkpoint).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with Management at all levels.
  • Strong systems and reporting user. Able to understand buildup of numbers and extract relevant data.
  • Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail
  • Self-starter - willing to work independently and pro-actively.
