Job Description

The Test Engineer will operate with a strong technical background in PCB level test design utilizing LabVIEW test software, low to high volume mix environment. The incumbent must be able to operate independently with minimal supervision in a fast paced, dynamic environment and work on multiple concurrent projects. He/She will evaluate and perform PCBA component level failure analysis of released product failures and, at times, customer returns; it requires rapid response to production defects and the development, documentation and implementation of corrective measures.  The incumbent addresses and implements solutions to product sustainment issues.  He/She will perform time studies, create Standard Work and work instructions for both new and existing products.  

Job Duties

* Design, develop, document, qualify and deploy flexible, modular and scalable test systems (hardware, software) and fixtures for in-house use and/or at suppliers.
* Create and maintain project plans and documentation in support of project development team activities. 
* Create and maintain test system documentation, including schematics, bill of materials, mechanical layout, assembly & set-up instructions, PM/calibration plans, test procedures, etc.
* Prepare & execute test plans, verification & validation plans and final reports. 
* Collaborate with New Product Introduction (NPI) teams on the design, development and deployment of new test platforms and technologies.
* Provide sustaining technical support (software, hardware) for test platforms deployed throughout the manufacturing facilities. 

* Work closely with production and engineering personnel to do immediate failure analysis and repair. 
* Work with QA department and contract manufacturers to supervise the repair and develop corrective actions when appropriate. 
* Effectively analyze the hardware failures, initiate their repair in a timely manner. 

* Spot failure trends and work with other technicians and engineers to implement corrective actions to lower overall failure rates.
* Perform all other essential duties as assigned. 

PLEASE NOTE THIS JOB REQUIRES YOU TO BE ONSITE IN WALTHAM, MA 5 days a week.

Job Requirements

* Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience in automated final acceptance test design for low to high volume mix environments, ideally in semiconductor processing, sensors or multidisciplinary systems is required.
* Demonstrated proficiency with National Instruments LabView platform is essential. 

* JTAG / boundary scan development experience is a plus. 
* Hands-on experience with electrical systems (AC/DC, analog/digital circuits) and system wiring is preferred. 
* Excellent problem-solving and communication (verbal and written) skills are necessary. 
* Proficiency in wiring diagrams, electrical testing, soldering and production procedures is essential. 
* Operational use of electronic test equipment including digital storage oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, and logic analyzers is preferred. 

* Experience with low power (battery operated), portable embedded DSP based systems is a plus.
* Computer literate and strong MS Office skills are essential.
* Ability to work on multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously is necessary. 
* Must have strong attention to details and documentation skills.
