Job Description

This position is responsible for the creation, analysis and timely execution of change control.  Analysis of changes will include assessing the nature of the change for accuracy and ensuring that proper supporting documentation such as to address qualification, inventory, part disposition, field impact and proper approval.  In addition it will be responsible for administrative functions such as data integrity and file storage and maintaining to ERP system.

This position will also provide the department with AutoCAD and SolidWorks drafting as well as translate red-lined drawings to finished documents.

This position requires creativity, resourcefulness, attention to detail, compliance to documentation control and applicable procedures and the ability to work independently.

Job Duties

*  Work cross functionally to support the creation, review and release of controlled change activity. Verify proposed changes, update documentation and implement ECNs.  Ensure that all applicable procedures are followed.

 

*  Perform updates in the ERP system including part numbers, Bills of Material and Engineering Changes.

 

*  Manage the timely execution of the change approval and release process and ensure documentation databases company-wide are updated on consistent basis and to ensure that documentation is retrievable.

 

*  Support drafting effort by utilizing AutoCAD and SolidWorks to create and update mechanical and electro-mechanical drawings to support business needs.

 

*  Suggest process improvements to improve overall operation and efficiency.

 

*  Responsible to provide internal customer service support for documentation requests.

 

*  Assist in the development and implementation of improvements of systems and methods to manage the quality, accuracy, integrity, accessibility, usefulness and efficiency of the documentation system.

 

*  Analyze, process and track submissions to minimize processing time between submission and implementation, optimizing department throughput.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*  Associate of Science degree, or equivalent experience required.

 

*  5+ years documentation change management experience in a manufacturing environment required.

 

*  Drafting experience to understand drawing requirements and work from markups required.

 

*  Strong computer skills. 

 

*  Experience with an ERP system such as Visual Manufacturing and a PLM system such as Omnify or Agile.

 

*  Must be a highly organized, self-managed individual who works independently with minimum supervision.  Must also be proactive with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others in a positive, constructive and collaborative manner. 

 

*  Working knowledge of documentation control procedures, bills of material, drawings and configuration management.

 

*  Strong communication skills and attention to detail with strong problem solving skills.

 

*  The ability to understand ECNs, create/edit documents and comprehend specification sheets.

 

*  Knowledge of drafting procedures such as retrieving and applying information from design/drafting standards, preparation of purchasing and manufacturing specifications.

 

*  Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks required.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

*  Experience in a Lean Manufacturing Environment is desirable.

 

*  Adobe Illustrator or other publishing software experience a plus.

 

*  Ability to manage multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously to meet demands of the department.
