Job Description
This position reporting to the Production Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the Transducer Production Team. This is a hands on working supervisor role; a portion of each day will be spent on direct labor activities. Responsible for production work order execution in accordance with the schedule and shop floor production control. Supervisor will champion our Lean Continuous Improvement program to identify opportunities for process and product quality improvements in order to achieve the company's performance goals. Position also responsible for reporting health and safety hazards when discovered.Â
Job Duties
Manage activities to meet production goals quality and cost objectives Perform Production Assembly/Test Operations Develop and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient production Execution of work orders to sustain pre-determined safety stock levels Daily review of customer orders utilizing On-time-delivery tools to ensure on-time delivery Root cause analysis & coding of late customer order lines Supervise and support employees Train employees on labor reporting in ADP Authorize time cards and employee paid time-off schedule Train employees on ERP Labor Reporting/ensure accurate labor reporting & drive to standard times Train employees on manufacturing processes Mentor employees on Lean/Continuous Improvement Drive 5S Improvements / Daily audits to achieve / sustain level 5 Drive labor cost reduction daily including regular employee review of work orders that exceed standard times Manage Employee Performance Complete performance reviews
Evaluation of performance will be based on ability to: Achievement of company goals for:o Customer On-Time Delivery o Cost of non-Qualityo Labor Cost Reduction Consistency of production labor costs and meeting labor standards Personal and direct reports participation in the company's Lean and Continuous Improvement programs Achieving 5S goals in all areas of responsibility Personal and organizational adherence to company policies and procedures including but not limited to attendance and safety policies Development of direct reports for expansion of skill sets and achievement of efficiencies and productivities
Job Requirements
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma (or GED) plus four years post high school technical degree or equivalent experience
Minimum 5 years of Manufacturing experience
Leadership skills ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES Strong leadership and decision-making abilities Functional knowledge MRP systems Knowledge of Manufacturing practices and processes The ability to understand and participate in the ECO process read drawings and comprehend specification sheets Ability to use information to plan workloads and resources as well as to analyze and establish priorities. A strong knowledge of Lean concepts Accomplished “lead-by-example†tactical change agent with strong interpersonal skills and total commitment to being a “team player†Experience implementing and sustaining improvement of work processes and the work environment Strong problem-solving skills Must be able to influence negotiate and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals. Ability to Supervise multiple priorities and multiple tasks simultaneously Proactive and positive with strong verbal and written communication skills Must be a highly organized self-managed individual who works independently with minimum supervision and the ability to work in fast-paced environment.
