Job Description
The Production Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of the manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety. This role collaborates with cross- functional teams to ensure smooth production flow, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position acts as a leader and mentor to the PENG team.
Job Duties
- Adhere to policy and procedures to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Has substantial understanding of company policies and procedures and applies knowledge and skills to complete a wide range of assigned tasks and adherence to production plan schedules while producing high quality products to standards.
- Develop and Optimize manufacturing processes, tools and equipment for increased efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks or quality issues.
- Design and implement process improvements to reduce waste, downtime and variability.
- Support new product introductions and ensure production readiness.
- Collaborate with design, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability and reliability.
- Oversee the develop work instructions, standard operating procedures, and process documentation.
- Conduct time and motion studies to evaluate labor productivity.
- Lead or support root cause analysis and corrective actions for production problems.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff.
Evaluation of performance will be based on ability to:
- Produce quality products in accordance to standards.
- Follow all applicable manufacturing procedures and documentation.
- Participate in the company’s Lean and Continuous Improvement programs.
- Time and attendance (including the accurate reporting of time and attendance)
- Maintain work area 6S standards.
- Work with Team members with mutual respect and understanding.
- Drive initiatives supporting business KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)
Job Requirements
Education:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Experience:
- Minimum of ten years in a transducer manufacturing environment.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment a plus.
- Hands on manufacturing experience is critical.
Skills:
- Demonstrated practical implementation of theoretical principles Demonstrated high level of data collection and analysis.
- Understanding of conventional Ultrasonic and Phased Array Transducer construction
- Troubleshooting of transducer manufacturing processes. Hands on design and process evaluation.
- Prototype manufacturing driving to production readiness.
- Understanding of piezo ceramic processing.
- Proficiency in CAD software a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiar with process validation, FMEA, SPC, and control plans.

- Travel 5-10% as needed.
