Job Description

This high visibility role offers the technical professional the opportunity to operate at a strategic level with one of the world’s great technology product manufactures. Candidate will play a central and critical role in introducing to market the company’s latest products. Responsible to ensure products are designed for DFM and with robustness through their entire life cycle. The successful candidate will marshal a team of engineers with diverse skill and abilities through the day-to-day challenges of a fast-paced manufacturing environment while achieving schedule objectives. This role interacts with all parts of the business and will be looked to drive financial performance through lower manufacturing cost and eliminating scrap, rework, and warranty charges.

Job Duties

  • Collaboration with and NPI Engineering in instrument products; design for ease of manufacture, ease of assembly and ease of test
  • Sustainment of released products to achieve highest levels of quality, reliability and on time delivery
  • Creation of manufacturing, production and test processes, tools and fixtures
  • Continuous improvement of products and processes to reduce manufacturing costs and increased quality
  • Elimination of costs of non-Quality: scrap, rework and warranty repairs
  • Control and Documentation of Manufacturing and Production Processes Develop the capabilities of department staff through talent development, cross-training and organizational development
  • Leadership and support of the Lean and Continuous Improvement program
    This position interacts with all business functions with emphasis on manufacturing operations and NPI engineering
  • Evaluation of Performance will be based on ability to: Plan/meet schedules for NPI and other projects;
    Assess staffing requirements for skillsets and personnel levels; Implement and continuously improve manufacturing processes capable of meeting quality, cost, delivery and safety objectives

Job Requirements

Education:

BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical is beneficial)

Or Associate Degree in Engineering + 5 Years+ Management Experience.

Experience:

5-8 years in a Technical Management position desired
5-10 years experience in a manufacturing environment desired

Experience working in a Lean manufacturing environment a plus

Management experience of an Engineering, Production Engineering and/or Industrial Engineering function
 

Skills:

Hands-on skills and experience with Manufacturing processes, systems and tool
Must be a result-oriented who demonstrates an analytical approach to problem solving
Exemplary interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels to maintain relationships and cooperation in pursuing organizational goals
Knowledge and understanding of MRP and shop floor control systems a plus
Project Management skills and experience
Proven ability to assess resource requirements and workloads for effective execution
Thorough understanding of Product Life Cycle Management and Configuration Control.
