Senior Software Engineer, Deployment & Customer Operations (Digital Pathology, Evident MIS)

Job ID #:  2227
Company:  Evident
Posting Date:  Dec 15, 2025

Are you looking for a company that cares about people’s lives and health, including yours? At EVIDENT, we help make people’s lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling, every day.

Let’s inspire healthier lives, together.

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the deployment, configuration, and ongoing reliability of our digital pathology and whole-slide imaging software systems.
This role bridges field deployment engineering and site reliability, ensuring that every customer system is installed correctly, kept current, and performs consistently in production environments.

Our platform is evolving rapidly—with sophisticated software and hardware interactions that demand thoughtful setup, calibration, and integration with diverse customer IT infrastructures. Many deployments still require hands-on configuration and iterative tuning, and this role plays a critical part in both executing those deployments and helping to make them more scalable and resilient over time.

You will collaborate closely with the Monitoring, Observability & Customer Support team, which manages Level 1 and Level 2 operations, ensuring a smooth transition from deployment to steady-state support.

Key Responsibilities
1. Deployment & Configuration
•    Plan, execute, and validate end-to-end deployments of imaging, AI, and data-management software at customer sites.
•    Configure and integrate servers, clusters, and storage systems with hospital or lab IT environments (VPN, NAS, authentication, security).
•    Address environment-specific quirks and configuration challenges through structured documentation and reproducible templates.
•    Coordinate with Field Support Engineers during installation and commissioning.
•    Standardize and refine deployment playbooks and qualification checklists.
2. System Reliability & Upgrades
•    Manage version rollouts, patch upgrades, and regression testing for customer environments.
•    Monitor performance and system health in partnership with the observability team.
•    Diagnose and resolve complex multi-component issues spanning imaging, AI inference, and data storage.
•    Automate and streamline upgrade and rollback processes to minimize manual steps and downtime.
3. Continuous Improvement & Engineering Collaboration
•    Identify recurring configuration or performance challenges and collaborate with R&D to design systemic solutions.
•    Provide structured field feedback to help engineering teams improve installation workflows, system robustness, and customer readiness.
•    Pilot and validate new deployment frameworks or configuration tools before full-scale release.
•    Contribute to evolving the product toward more automated, reliable, and scalable deployments.
4. Customer IT & Cross-Functional Collaboration
•    Serve as the technical liaison with customer IT teams for networking, data access, security, and compliance.
•    Ensure installations meet institutional policies and regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR, IVDR).
•    Collaborate closely with the Monitoring & Customer Support Manager to align telemetry, escalation workflows, and root-cause analysis.
•    Participate in post-deployment reviews to continuously improve reliability and operational readiness.
5. Documentation & Knowledge Sharing
•    Maintain detailed installation and configuration records in the Service Management System (SMS).
•    Create deployment guides, troubleshooting references, and knowledge base entries.
•    Mentor junior engineers and field teams in standardized deployment practices and configuration methods.

Qualifications
Required
•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
•    5+ years of experience in software deployment, DevOps, or systems engineering (preferably in imaging, robotics, or healthcare).
•    Strong Linux (Ubuntu) system administration and scripting skills.
•    Experience with Docker/Kubernetes, PostgreSQL and MongoDB, and web service configuration (Nginx/Apache).
•    Proficiency with networking, VPNs, firewalls, and authentication systems.
•    Proven ability to work effectively in complex, manually tuned environments while driving automation and process improvements.
•    Strong analytical and communication skills for cross-functional and customer collaboration.
Preferred
•    Familiarity with DICOM/PACS systems or AI/ML model deployment.
•    Experience with observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
•    Background in regulated software operations (HIPAA, GDPR, IVDR).
•    Exposure to hardware–software co-deployment or distributed systems integration.

Success Metrics
•    Reliable, first-pass deployment success and on-time customer go-lives.
•    Reduction in manual configuration or rework through improved playbooks and tooling.
•    Fewer field incidents and faster recovery times post-deployment.
•    High collaboration efficiency between Deployment, R&D, and Support teams.
•    Positive customer satisfaction and uptime performance metrics.
