Job Description

The Area Sales Manager of RVI and ANI products is responsible to manage a team of outside sales representatives covering a designated geographical area (East Coast).  This people leader needs to have experience in Xray Florescence and Remote Visual Inspection technology and be able to demonstrate equipment and speak at a high level with their sales team and our customers to offer solutions that satisfy inspection requirements.

In collaboration with Sales Leadership, this employee will be responsible for developing and executing a sales strategy to achieve year over year incremental growth within their designated area.  This role requires someone that is result driven, well organized and can stay on task to drive a sales team to ensure growth.

Job Duties

  • Assume primary management responsibility for direct reports including goals development and, together with supervisor, create sales territories and budgets.
  • Responsible for region budget (P&L) and marketing activities. Achieve the sales targets set for the region.
  • Perform weekly sales funnel reviews with sales team within the CRM environment. Ensure 100% CRM compliance by direct reports; provide VP of Sales with weekly region report and update of monthly sales forecast.
  • Communicate region’s needs and solutions to VP of Sales
  • Prepare for and attend assigned regional conventions and tradeshows, sales and marketing meetings, training, and annual sales meetings.
  • Support sales representatives in advanced sales demonstrations.
  • Provide feedback and counselling to develop sales team personnel skill set.
  • Address and resolve complex customer issues or complaints.
  • Maintain, manage and be accountable for area sample accounts for accuracy and appropriate product mix.
  • Develop Olympus specifications for bids.
  • Continually learn new products and methods of presentation for these products, demonstrating ability, skills, and knowledge of products.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent knowledge and experience required.
  • 2 years sales experience in high end capital equipment sales
  • Two-year management experience preferred.
  • Highly motivated individual with the ability to lead by example in the field to grow sales and achieve company goals and objectives.
  • Proven record of achieving company goals and objectives (Sales, business growth initiatives, meeting company set KPI’s).
  • Proven record of identifying opportunities within territory and deploying initiatives to grow.
  • Ability to effectively demonstrate the product line to our customers and teach new sales reps.
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and computer skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
